How it works

Use Remove Image Metadata in three steps

  1. 1

Add the images you plan to share.

  2. 2

Choose an output format and quality.

  3. 3

Create clean copies and download them.

How browser-based metadata removal works

The browser decodes the visible pixels, draws them to a canvas and exports a new image. The original EXIF blocks are not copied into the new file. This removes common camera, date and GPS metadata from ordinary photos.

This method is designed for privacy cleanup, not forensic verification. Specialized formats or metadata stored in unusual locations may require a dedicated desktop inspection tool.

Keep the original when metadata matters

Photographers may need capture dates, lens details or copyright fields for cataloging. Save the cleaned copy separately and keep the original in a private archive.
