Why the output is WAV
Browsers can reliably decode many common audio formats, but they do not provide a universal MP3 encoder. WAV export keeps the workflow local and predictable, although the result can be larger than the source MP3 or AAC file.
Use a desktop encoder later if you need a smaller compressed delivery copy.
Avoid clicks at cut points
A tiny fade at the start and end can prevent an abrupt waveform jump from sounding like a click. The tool offers optional short fades for this reason.
